College football fans are in for a post-Thanksgiving treat when Boise State and Utah State meet in a Mountain West Conference clash on Friday afternoon. The Broncos are looking to remain undefeated in conference play while the Aggies seek a win over their division rival.

The Broncos have won six of their last seven games and are looking to complete a perfect conference regular season. Boise State’s offense has gotten better throughout the season, but the defense has been great from start to finish. The Broncos have dropped a total of 20 points over the past two weeks. With Utah State coming to town, Boise State will have one final test ahead of the MWC title game against Fresno State.

Utah State’s 1-4 start to the season seems like ages ago. The Aggies have really turned things around by winning five of their last six games, and they’re 5-2 in conference play. Utah State has found a variety of ways to win over the past two months, but the team is going with this one Road trip to Boise got his biggest test in a long time. The Aggies want to put the Broncos on a six-game losing streak and end their 2022 regular season with a bang.

George Holani, Boise State RB: The Boise State offense struggled to get going at times, but Holani has been a consistent playmaker all season. Holani has rushed for 100 yards in five of his last six games and has found the end zone ten times this year, ranking fourth in the MWC. When all else fails, the Broncos can count on Holani to come up with big plays on offense, and that likely won’t change against Utah State.

Calvin Tyler Jr., Utah State RB: Much like Holani, Tyler was his team’s best offense playmaker. A workhorse for the Aggies, Tyler has carried the ball 219 times for 978 yards and six points. In last week’s win against San Jose State, Tyler ran 30 times for 125 yards and three touchdowns. If Utah State has the ball, it’s probably a fair bet that it will end up in Tyler’s hands frequently.

JL Skinner, Boise State DB: Skinner is second in the MWC with four interceptions and has the hot hand in Broncos secondary. Skinner had a two-interception performance against Wyoming last weekend. In addition to stealing the ball from opponents, Skinner is second on the team with 58 tackles. He can play in a variety of ways on defense.

Boise State vs. Utah State Prediction

Odds via Caesars Sportsbook

The oddsmakers have Utah State as a sizeable 17-point underdog. That’s a big number, and I don’t feel comfortable taking sides. However, this feels more like a low-scoring game. Both teams have strong running backs up front, and perhaps more importantly, this game kicks off at 10:00 a.m. local time on a Friday. It’s easy to imagine that both offenses would start slowly given the circumstances. Prognosis: Below 51.5
