Fans have their second of six opportunities to bet on the 149th edition of the Kentucky Derby presented by Woodford Reserve (G1) from November 24-27 where Repole Stable and St. Elias Stable’s FanDuel Breeders’ Cup Juvenile will present by Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance (G1 ) winner Strength became the 10-1 singles favorite while the All Other Stallions and Geldings Pari-Mutuel field from the 2020 foal crop, not listed in the 38 singles interests, was classified as the hard 3-5 pick.
The four day pool with $2 Win and Exacta betting opens at 12pm Thursday (all times Eastern) and closes at 6pm Sunday. Pool 2 runs concurrently with the lone Kentucky Derby Sire Future Wager, allowing fans to wager on horses sired by 39 individual sires and an option for “All Others” that were not listed. Horses from the 2020 foal crop sired by uncle mo are the 4-1 morning line favorite followed by force (6-1), pretensions (8-1) and To disaster (8-1). All other Sires are listed at 6-1.

At the Kentucky Derby Future Wager, Forte, coached by Hall of Famer Todd Pletcher, has won four of five career starts and is a three-time Class 1 winner, with his other wins coming in Breeders’ Futurity and The Hopeful (G1). The talented son of Violence has already banked $1,595,150 and is the big favorite to become a 2-year-old champion.
Other intriguing prospects added to the Kentucky Derby Future Wager’s second pool include Winchell Thoroughbreds’ scintillating first specialweight winner Extra anejo (15-1); Spendthrift Farm, Steve Landers Racing, Martin Schwartz, Michael Dubb, Ten Strike Racing, Jim Bakke, Titletown Racing Stables, Kueber Racing, Big Easy Racing and Winners Wins undefeated winner Great nonsense (25-1); Breeders’ Futurity narrow second Registrations (40-1); and Rodeo Creek Racing’s Champagne (G1) winner and Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1) fourth Flaming sevens .

Like last year, Pool 2 will assume that horses managed by trainers who are suspended from competing in the 2023 Kentucky Derby will not be considered. Instead, they are included in the pari-mutuel field.
There are 14 new entrants in Pool 2 of the Kentucky Derby Future bet: Bromley , Capture the flag , Cascais , Champions dream , Corona Bolt , Denington , Disarm , expect more huge mischief, hello , process , marine man , Convenient move and recruiter .

Fans will have the opportunity to see some of the participants in Saturday’s Kentucky Derby Future Wager Pool 2 Churchill Downs for Stars of Tomorrow II, which features 2-year races only. The Main Event is the $400,000 Kentucky Jockey Club (G2) which is worth 10 points to the winning horse on the road to the Kentucky Derby.
In the Kentucky Derby Sire Future Wager, horses sired by Uncle Mo were made favorites. Some of Uncle Mo’s top earners (through November 17) include Gulfport ($336,530), Mon Strike ($183,710) and Arabian Knight ($86,025).
In last year’s Kentucky Derby Sire Future Wager “All Other Sires” which included the eventual winner of the Kentucky Derby Rich punch (Spicy Ice Cream ), finished as a 7-2 favourite.

In all, six future betting pools are planned ahead of the 2023 Kentucky Derby: Pool 1 ran from November 1-3; 24-27 Nov (Pool 2); 20-22 January (Pool 3); 10-12 February (Pool 4); 10th-12th March (Pool 5); and March 30th to April 1st (Pool 6). The only Kentucky Oaks Futures bet coincides with Kentucky Derby Future Wager Pool 5 on March 10-12.
A record $2,060,691 was wagered on future bets for the 2022 Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks.
There are no refunds on the Kentucky Derby Future or Kentucky Derby Sire Future. Should Churchill Downs officials determine during the duration of this week’s four day pool that one of the prospective bettors has suffered an injury, illness or other circumstance which would prevent the horse from competing in the Kentucky Derby or Oaks, the individual horse will be betted on be suspended immediately.
